My Official Adidas Virgin London Marathon kit 2014 has arrived
Yesterday my official London Marathon race kit turned up.
The hoodie’s very cool and will be great for that post-race pub visit. I’m not entirely sold by the t-shirt design. It’s a little reminiscent of the Arsenal away kit from the Nineties.
Shorts are great and I’ve got a technical t-shirt that’s not in the photo that I absolutely love. The fact that it all matches is great too.
I’ve had the Supernova Glide Boosts for a couple of weeks and I’ve settleed into them really well. I’m even considering these for race day but might opt for something a bit more lightweight. I’m finding them to be great training shoes though.
All of this gave me a little shiver of excitement too. We’re still two months and four days away from race day but I’m already fired up.

Classic Quarter 44 Miler Preparation: Eats and drinks
So I’ve whittled down my food and drinks for the checkpoints into four drop bags. In each of them I have:
1.5 litres of water to refill my Camelbak bladder
2 x 330 ml of Vita Coco coconut water, one to drink at the station and one to carry for the next section.
1 x 300 ml caron of diarolyte salt and rehydration drink
1 x banana
1 x SiS Bar
Small bag of nuts and raisins
1 x Maxifuel Viper gel
1 x mini Crunchie bar
1 x mini Cadbury’s flake
My mum has also very kindly made me some flapjacks.
I probably won’t be eating all of this food but I confess to not really knowing what I’m going to fancy eating as the race goes on so I’ve decided to hedge my bets a little.
Under 24 hours to the race and I’m feeling a tad nervous. First up though there’s a six hour drive to the South West and the Cornish coast where I’m told it’s going to be around 17 celsius and not too windy. Perfect conditions.
